- * Ribosomal protein L30e signatures *
- *************************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:
-
- - Mammalian ribosomal protein L30 [1].
- - Yeast ribosomal protein YL32 [2].
- - Thermococcus celer ribosomal protein L30 [3].
- - A probable ribosomal protein (ORF 1) from Methanococcus vannielii [4].
- - A probable ribosomal protein (ORF 104) from Sulfolobus acidocaldarius [5].
-
- These proteins have 101 to 114 amino-acid residues. As signature patterns, we
- selected two conserved regions; one located in the N-terminal region, the
- other in the C-terminal.
-
- -Consensus pattern: G-x(4)-G-x-[KR]-x(2)-[LIVM]-[KQ]-x(2)-[KR]-x-G-x(2)-K-x-
- [LIVM](3)
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
-
- -Consensus pattern: E-L-G-[STA]-x(2)-G-[KR]-x(3)-V-x(2)-[LIVM]-x-[LIVM](2)-
- [DE]-x-G
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
